Last week our students visited our Scholars Library and enjoyed checking our many books. Yesterday they had a fabulous "Fall Party". THANK YOU so very much to our room parents and all the volunteering parents who gave their time and energy to make this a wonderful event! This was one of the best planned and executed parities my students have had in a number of years. The events were spread out so there was plenty of room and the students were grouped to avoid crowding The events were well organized and supervised, as well as being fun and interesting, and the students moved through them in a timely fashion. Parents, you did an outstanding job!!
This coming week in Literacy we will complete the first whole class lesson in Non-Fiction Reading Comprehension. Students will then continue developing this skill in small groups, meeting with me to instruct and guide group discussion. Students will continue writing skills in small groups, also meeting with me for instruction and discussion. They will continue reading "Time for Kids" magazines. They will continue learning and using spelling rules, and they will work on cursive writing skills. That's a lot to cove,r so due dates will be spread out accordingly.

In Science, students will study radiant and thermal energy. They will design and conduct an experiment relating to thermal energy and weather.

The School Board will host a Town Hall Meeting at 4:00, at school. This is your opportunity to meet board members and ask any policy questions you might have.

On Friday, November 6, students will complete a Language Test.
