Weekly Update, June 5 - June 13

Hello Parents!

Wow!  How time flies!  I'm trying to get used to the idea that we are starting our final week of school for this academic year!

This coming week in Literacy, students will conclude their novel studies and watch movies based on their novels.

In Science, students will complete their experiments, lab reports, and project boards.  They will present everything in class by the end of Thursday.  On Friday, the 4th grade students will visit our "Third Grade Science Fair" and give feedback to our students.

Here are some daily reminders for the coming week:
On Monday, June 5, Red Fern work, ch. 19 & 20, is due.
Maniac Magee work, ch. 43-46, is due.
We have Clubs.

On Tuesday, June 6, we have Clubs.

On Wednesday, June 7, it is Field Day for our students, in the morning, at school.
Signed Monday Folders are due.

On Thursday, June 8, the Science Fair Projects are due.
Students will sign yearbooks.

Friday morning, June 9, we have an Awards Ceremony at school.
The 4th Grade students will visit our "Third Grade Science Fair".
We have Clubs.

On Monday, June 12, we will have our End-Of-Year Party in the afternoon, starting around 1:15.  You are welcome to attend, and you don't have to do anything!

Tuesday, June 13, is half-day, and is the final day of school for the academic year 2016-2017!
Dismissal is at 11:25.

Weekly Update, May 30 - June 13

Good Morning Parents,

I wish you all a great weekend and Happy Memorial Day!

This coming week is EOG Testing.  Ms. Gutt already sent out information about test preparation. Please do not be late for school on Wednesday, May 31, or Thursday, June 1!

This coming week, in addition to testing, in Literacy students will continue Novel Studies, and will continue studying grammar, using Grammar Island and Practice Island.

In Science, students will prepare for the "Third Grade Science Fair".  Please make sure your student has all supplies necessary to conduct their experiments, as well as a poster board or project board.  All experiments should be completed by this Friday, June 2.  Presentations begin Thursday, June 8, and the fourth grade students will visit our Fair on Friday, June 9.

Maniac Magee work, ch. 36-42, is due.

On Wednesday, May 31, third grade students will complete the Literacy EOG Test.

On Thursday, June 1, third grade students will complete the Math EOG Test.

On Monday, June 5, Red Fern work, ch. 19 & 29, is due.

Weekly Update, May 22 - June 2

Good Morning Parents,

As always, I hope you are enjoying the weekend!

This coming week in Literacy students will continue to develop skills in fiction reading comprehension and writing, using Novel Studies.  Students will continue to develop grammar skills, using Grammar Island and Practice Island.

In Science, Ms. Moschel's class will work on the Third Grade Science Fair.  PLEASE make sure you have signed the Assignment Sheet.  Students need to supply ALL their own materials for the experiments, as well as their own poster board or project board.  Note the experiments need to be concluded by Friday, June 2.  Students may start running trials of their experiments as soon as you sign the Assignment Sheet, I OK the experiment, and they bring their materials to class.  ALL experiments MUST  be done in class.  Please read the Assignment Package for additional information.
Ms. Gutt's class will complete a Science Test covering all of the "Forces & Motion" Unit, on Monday, May 22.  There are five sets of Guided Notes, (on my Teacher Page under "Documents"), and three graded worksheets, (not on the Teacher page).  We spent several days reviewing for this test in class.  After the Science Test Ms. Gutt's students will also be preparing for the Third grade Science Fair.

Maniac Magee work, ch. 29-35, is due.
Ms. Gutt's class will complete a Science Test, covering "Forces and Motion".

On Wednesday, May 24, signed Monday Folders are due.
All school Library Books are due.

On Thursday, May 25, I will be out of the school.

Friday, May 25, is our School Talent Show!  I am really looking forward to seeing our students perform.

On Monday, May 29, there is no school.  It is Memorial Day.
