Last week our students completed EOG Testing in Literacy and Math. They did an excellent job during the testing, and I hope their scores are equally excellent.
This coming week in Literacy we will complete our Novel Studies, and begin watching the movies about those novels.

On Wednesday, June 3, students will sign yearbooks during the last period of the day.
On Thursday morning, June 4, our students will participate in "Field Day". Please dress your child accordingly, and put sunscreen on him/her. Your child MUST were closed-toe shoes, preferably tennis shoes. A hat is a good idea. Make sure he/she has a labeled water bottle.

On Friday, June 5, is our School Talent Show in the morning.
In the afternoon, we have Clubs.

I think we will have our class End-of-Year Party in the morning. We are waiting for the administration to let us know when the parties will be held.

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful Memorial Day weekend! Last week most of our students presented their Revolutionary War Projects. They did a fine job of researching, preparing presentations, and then delivering them to our class. Bravo scholars!

Weekly Update: May 18 - May 29
Good Morning Parents,
As always, I wish you a happy weekend! Lat week was very exciting. We had a wonderful morning with the grandparents on Grandparents' Day, and Night of the Arts was the best ever! Our students performed beautifully, had impressive art on display, and the venue was lovely. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as I did!
We also had our school auditions for the Talent Show, and Progress Reports were sent home.

Weekly Update: May 4 - May 15
Good Morning Parents!
What a lovely weekend! Even though it is gorgeous outside, the beautiful weather cannot beat our school musical. I saw it yesterday and all I can say is "WOW"! It was fantastic and all our students looked so cute!! We definitely have a lot of latent in our school. I hope you are able to see the musical and enjoy this wonderful production.
Parents - We need wide-ruled lined paper and hand sanitizer for our students. Please send some if you are able.
Last week the Mayor of Charlotte visited our classroom. The students were very excited. They shared what they were doing and the mayor shared what he is doing. Everyone had a lot of fun and we ran out of time much too soon.
Soon it will be time for our School Talent Show! Each class is able to send four acts to audition for the show. We have nine acts signed up in our class, so we must have classroom auditions. We will select the top four acts to continue to the school-wide auditions. There the top two acts from each classroom will be chosen to perform in the Talent Show on June 5. Our classroom auditions will take place Thursday, May 7. Students must bring everything they need to perform. The list of acts for the school-wide auditions is due Friday, May 8, so there will be no make-up auditions.
Next week in Literacy students will continue their Novel Studies, and will continue reading Time for Kids magazines.
